No Crisis Services Notice

 

This website and my practice are not crisis services and are not monitored around the clock. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact one of the following resources immediately:

  • Call or text 988 — Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

  • Text HOME to 741741 — Crisis Text Line, free and confidential

  • Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room if you are in immediate danger

If you are a current client experiencing a non-emergency concern between sessions, please reach out through the Simple Practice client portal and I will respond within one business day.

No Therapist-Client Relationship Notice

 

Visiting this website, reading its content, or submitting a contact or appointment request does not establish a therapist-client relationship. A therapeutic relationship is only established after a formal intake appointment has been completed and both parties have agreed to move forward with treatment.

Licensure & Scope of Practice

 

Dr. Harriet Singelyn is a licensed psychologist in the state of Texas. License No. 39356

 

Services are provided exclusively via telehealth to individuals located in Texas and in all PSYPACT-participating states at the time of the session. Services cannot be provided to individuals located outside of these jurisdictions regardless of where they reside.

 

This practice does not provide:

  • Psychiatric medication management or prescriptions

  • Crisis intervention or emergency services

  • Court-ordered evaluations or forensic assessments

  • Services to individuals located outside of Texas or PSYPACT-participating states

If your needs fall outside the scope of this practice, I will do my best to provide appropriate referrals.

Telehealth Notice

 

All services are provided exclusively via telehealth using a HIPAA-compliant video platform. By engaging in telehealth services you acknowledge that:

  • Telehealth sessions are conducted over secure, encrypted platforms but no technology can guarantee absolute confidentiality

  • You are responsible for ensuring a private, secure environment on your end during sessions

  • Telehealth has specific limitations compared to in-person therapy and may not be appropriate for all clinical presentations

  • Technical difficulties may occasionally interrupt sessions and a plan for this will be discussed during your intake appointment

  • You must be physically located in Texas or a PSYPACT-participating state at the time of each session

A full telehealth informed consent will be provided and reviewed during the intake process.

Privacy & HIPAA Notice

 

Dr. Harriet Singelyn Psychotherapy, PLLC is committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining the confidentiality of your personal health information in accordance with federal HIPAA law and applicable Texas state privacy laws.  Appointment and contact forms are hosted through Simple Practice, a HIPAA-compliant platform. Your information is always secure and protected and will never be used for marketing purposes without your explicit written authorization.

Good Faith Estimate Notice

 

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. 

​

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. 

​

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. 

​

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
